If you are enjoying benefits under Veterans Affairs Canada and are suffering from hearing loss (that is noise-induced) then you should contact us.

Exposure to 100dB or higher frequencies of 500, 1000, 2000 and 3000 Hz in the battlefield often results in hearing afflictions at a later stage. The type of hearing loss is determined through an audiogram. If you are diagnosed with such an affliction then, you will be able to avail the VAC (Veterans Affairs Canada) benefits. At The Ear Depot, we converse with the patients before conducting any hearing tests in order to understand the history of the patient and whether it is hereditary or not.

If you meet all the requirements then you may receive the benefits for hearing loss treatment from the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).

The benefits include:

  • Annual hearing tests and examinations
  • Veterans Affairs hearing aids
  • Replacement of hearing aids every five years

The Process

A Quick Story On How We Began…

Brenda Cowan, owner and president of The Ear Depot began her career in 1982.

Working for over nine years as a Hearing Instrument Practitioner under the guidance of two exceptionally caring Hearing Clinics in both Peterborough and Toronto, Brenda saw firsthand what it meant to truly serve the needs of those dealing with difficulty hearing conversation.
And by 1991, felt it was time to open her own practice and provide the same level of care and passion she had been taught to give, within her hometown of Peterborough.

Over the past two and half decades The Ear Depot has grown incredibly strong, with several location expansions.
